Safety, Comfort and Value -- ANR for
less than $250
The New A450 ANR Headset Shatters
the Noise Barrier
Shattering the last
barrier between GA pilots and ANR technology, the new A450 ANR
Headset from AvShop Design puts cutting edge active noise
reduction technology in the general aviation cockpit for less
than $250. Combining excellent passive noise reduction
characteristics with custom-designed ANR circuitry, the A450 is
the most versatile ANR headset on the market, appropriate for
use in piston-driven GA aircraft, turboprops and even open
cockpits.
The ANR
technology in the A450 will provide up to 12 dB of active noise
cancellation on top of 24 to 26 dB of passive noise attenuation.
Reducing in-flight noise increases in-flight comfort for pilots
and passengers alike. Pilots benefit from improved
communications, reduced fatigue and reduced risk of short and
long-term hearing damage.
In addition to
leading-edge sound deadening capabilities, the A450 includes a
laundry list of features usually only found on headsets in the
“$400 and Up” category.
-
The A450
includes an auxiliary audio input for use with mobile audio
devices, from MP3 and DVD players to audible checklists on a
Pocket PC.
-
A
custom-designed padded headset bag is included. With a handy
inside pocket for your charts and logbook and a built-in
retractable shoulder strap, this durable compact nylon bag
may be the only bag you need to carry to the flight line.
-
The A450 is
compatible with mono and stereo audio systems and has
separate sliding volume controls for the left and right
audio channels. Proper fit is essential to maximize passive
noise attenuation. While other headsets create that fit by
force, the advanced, lightweight materials and refined
engineering of the A400 reduce the pressure exerted by the
headset in flight. Large ear openings and three-dimensional
fit adjustment hardware accommodates different sizes with
aplomb.
Weighing only
14.5 ounces (410 g), soft conforming foam on the headpad and
earseals creates a “comfort zone” for pilots and crew.
Powered by two
“AA” batteries, the A450 will provide ANR for up to 25 hours. As
you reach the last 10% of battery life remaining, the “On/Off”
switch will switch from blinking green to red, indicating that
new batteries will be needed soon. The fail-safe design of the
ANR circuitry maintains transmission and reception capabilities
even in the event of an in-flight loss of battery power. |
